ENTERTAINMENT & ATTRACTIONS

This custom-designed exhibit will be an interactive adventure into one of America's greatest institutions...Rock and Roll. "Rock U, The Institute of Rock 'N' Roll" will debut at the California State Fair in July 2011 and then begin a two year North American tour. Yakima is its first stop after finishing the California State Fair.

The exhibit will feature interactive stations covering the different origins of this great music genre. Attendees will be greeted by our record mobile and album towers on their way to the "media tower." This infused art sculputre of memorabilia, TV monitors, speakers and rock instruments starts their journey. The design focuses on three distinct ways we've experienced Rock 'n' Roll through the years. First, Changing Tunes will display photo opportunity highlights of the early days of the musical genres, allowing attendees to take unique photos in a musical backdrop. Second, The Concert Experience, an interactive multimedia display celebrating the live performance aspects of Rock 'n' Roll, incorporates an extensive collection of Rock posters, unique vintage wardrobe and a listening station focusing on live performances of the world's favorite bands. This area will also examine how we've listened to the music over the years from the large living room console radio from the 1950's players all the way to current music player technologies such as the iPod and mp3 players. The third area, The Playing Experience, allows the audience to wander through and experience different interactive stations that will allow them to play and explore the basic instruments in any rock band.

Stage Nine is the creative force behind "It's a Candy Nation" and "Get Animated." Both exhibits were featured at our Fair in 2009 and 2010.

ROUND CORRAL CLINICS

Featherland Ranch proudly presents Dan James & Julie Goodnight!

Dan James will be appearing in the Round Corral on Saturday, Sept. 24 - Tuesday, Sept. 27. Round Corral is located just west of Barn A.

Dan's lifelong passion for horses began when he was 6 weeks old when he first sat upon a horse. His hunger to understand and learn more about the ways and thinking patterns of the horse have led him to international status. The entertainment shows and clinics that Dan now conducts all started as a bit of fun, entertaining guests on the station. He's recently been invited to participate in the Road to the Horse International Challenge. This is a huge honor for him. Road to the Horse is a three-day event where well-known clinicians are invited to compete in a colt-starting challenge, taking the colt from halter breaking to riding an obstacle course in just three days. This year, Dan will be competing against the USA team of Craig Cameron and Pat Parelli. This is a sellout event in Murfeesboro, TN.

Dan has agreed to start colts at this year's Fair. Call now for further information on this great opportunity to have YOUR colt started by a Master horseman!
