Tickets for this year’s Central Washington State Fair line-up of entertainers are set to go on sale at 12 noon tomorrow (Friday), but some buyers may be disappointed to learn that music parody artist, “Weird Al” Yankovic has already cancelled his appearance date. It was just announced last Thursday that Yankovic would be appearing at the Fair on Saturday, September 24th. “We had a signed commitment from Weird Al, but just found out that his agency had double booked that date,” said Fair president Greg Stewart. “He and his people have decided to not honor our agreement.” Stewart said Weird Al has apologized for the mix-up and says “To my fans and friends near Yakima: so sorry that an unintentional scheduling snafu has caused us to have to postpone our show at the Central Washington Fair this summer for another time. I always love playing there and hope it won't be too long before we'll be able to come back. In the meantime, have a great time at the fair and please enjoy a fried-food-item-on-a-stick on my behalf." "Weird Al" Yankovic “We’re working hard to fill that date,” said Stewart. “And we will. We should have an announcement for who we will have for opening Saturday within a few days.” In the mean time, tickets for the rest of the entertainment line-up still will go on sale tomorrow at noon. Those entertainers who will be performing as part of the Les Schwab Concert Series during the ten day Fair include hip-hop artist MC Magic, country group Gloriana, the rock band Hinder, country singer Kellie Pickler, R&B group Boyz II Men, crossover artist Uncle Kracker and country newbie Brett Eldridge. Tickets will also go on sale for events at the Coca-Cola Grandstand including sprint car racing, Pro West Rodeo Finals and a demolition derby. The prices for the reserved seats run from $5 to $25. Tickets for all shows will go on sale on Friday, June 10 at noon at the Fair ticket office and through TicketsWest locations. To reserve seats call 1-800-325-SEAT. For everyone buying a ticket to any of the shows tomorrow (Friday June 10), or Saturday, June 11, they will receive one free pass into the Fair for every ticket they buy. The free admission tickets are good for opening Friday, September 23 at the Fair.
