Our main goal at the Central Washington State Fair is to provide a safe, family & fun environment. Questions that we are asked frequently are answered below.

Please note, most of these services are offered strictly during the Central Washington State Fair in September/October.

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)


For your convenience, accessible ticket windows are located at all State Fair Park Entrance Gates.

Parking (ADA)
To park in the ADA parking stalls, guests must have a legitimate ADA placard or a license plate that identifies them as having special needs parking. Parking attendants will direct you to the reserved ADA parking section. We increase the number of ADA parking stalls on our Senior Day (Tuesday) to accommodate the needs of our senior guests.

Wheelchair Rentals
Howards Medical Supply is supplying all mobile assistance units. Rentals are located outside the SW Corner of the Yakima Valley SunDome. Look for the covered wagon! A deposit of $20 (either cash or a valid credit credit) for non-electric wheelchairs and a $50 deposit (either cash or a valid credit credit) for all electric mobile units will be required until the rental item is returned. Please note: the item MUST be returned 15 minutes prior to closing or the deposit will be forfeited. We cannot reserve most rental items. Items are rented on a first-come, first served basis, based on availability. However, Howards Medical will take advance reservations for electric scooters/wheelchairs. To reserve an electric scooter/wheelchair, please call 509.654.9899.

Wheelchairs: $20, plus additional $20 as deposit
Electric Wheelchairs: $50 (weight capacity 290 lbs.), plus additional $50 as deposit
Electric Scooters: $50 (weight capacity 260 lbs.), plus additional $50 as deposit

Service Animals
Service Animals specifically trained to aid a disabled person are allowed to enter.

Restrooms
All buildings on the fairgrounds are equipped with restrooms that accommodate our guests with special needs.

Family Restrooms
There is one family restroom on the grounds at fairtime and it's located on the south side of the Agriculture Building. This restroom allows parents to attend to the needs of their opposite-sex children, or for attendants to care for their loved ones.

Concert Seating
An area in our Main Stage area is reserved for our guests with special needs. This section is in our “free” area & will allow for one attendant. We will make every effort to keep families together, based on space availability.

Grandstand Seating
A seating area for our guests in wheelchairs is in the North Turf Club, accessible by the exterior ramp, west side of Grandstand. Attendants must be physically capable of controlling the wheelchair as it ascends and descends this ramp. This section is in our “free” area and will allow for one attendant. We will make every effort to keep families together, based on space availability.

Sign Language Interpreters
Sign Interpreters are available upon request. Interpreters must be requested two weeks prior to the event. To request a sign interpreter, please call (509) 248-7160 ext. 111.

AVERAGE ANNUAL ATTENDANCE

We host an average of 315,000-325,000 fair fans during our ten-day event every year!

CASH MACHINES

During Fair, ATM Cash Machines are located at the Yakima Valley SunDome, Grandstand, Main Plaza, Food Court, Oak Park, Valley Building, near Pink Gate (carnival area) & Beer Garden - 9 locations to serve you!

DAILY RENTALS

FIRST AID

Entrance is outside on the east side of the Modern Living Building. Emergency personnel are on the grounds all hours of the Fair.

INFORMATION BOOTH

The KXDD Information Booth is located in the Main Plaza, near the Food Court. Stop by the booth any time during the Central Washington State Fair - our staff is always ready with the information you need!

LOST & FOUND

Lost & found items may be dropped off or recovered at the Starplex Crowd Management Services office, located on the south side of the Shattuck Building. Their phone number is (509) 453-9106.

LOST TOTS & DISPLACED PERSONS

If you become separated from a child or adult, please report to the south side of the Security Building (Shattuck Office Building, located between Pioneer Hall & Modern Living Building). CMS Security is well-connected by radio to get the word out to their team.

PARKING

On-Site Parking - $10
All Parking for State Fair Park merges into the Main Lot & Infield Lot from Pacific Avenue. Pacific Avenue is the street that borders the north edge of State Fair Park. To get to Pacific Avenue, you may use Fair Avenue or 18th Street. The streets are well signed at Fairtime to facilitate your parking experience. (Patience might be a virtue on our busiest days!)

On-Site Fair Parking may be purchased in advance at the State Fair Park Box Office during business hours, at any TicketsWest outlet, charge-by-phone at 800.325.SEAT (7328) or online at www.ticketswest.com.

Gold Lot – Credentials Required
Gold Lot (VIP) Parking is just north of the Deccio Administration Building and just west of the Yakima Valley SunDome. Entrance is immediately west of the Deccio Building, off of Fair Avenue, which is also our Transit entry point. Proceed through the Transit Lot to the Gold Lot entry point where a parking attendant will ask for your VIP Parking Credential. This lot is available to our VIP guests and VIP sponsors. Paid parking is NOT available in this lot.

PATRON APPEARANCE

Patrons entering the Central Washington State Fairgrounds must be properly attired with shoes and shirt. The items must be worn at all times while on grounds. Gang attire not permitted.

PETS

NO PETS
Service Animals specifically trained to aid a disabled person are allowed to enter.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Cameras: Upon artist approval, only point-and-shoot cameras (without detachable lenses) are allowed at Bud Stage / Grandstand Events.
Video & Sound Recording: No video or sound recording equipment allowed.

PUBLIC SAFETY INSPECTIONS

In order to make your visit to the Fair an enjoyable experience, we appreciate your compliance with our policies noted below.

In the interest of public safety and to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all Fair patrons, participants, volunteers, contractors and employees, the Central Washington State Fair will be conducting inspections of random carry-in items during the Fair at all public gates prior to entering the grounds. Please be prepared when arriving at the Fair.

To expedite your entry,
  • When arriving at the gate, have your ticket in hand and be prepared to open any carry-in item you are bringing to the Fair so it can be inspected.
  • Personal items that may be inspected include all purses, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, athletic bags, duffel bags, coolers, ice chests, picnic baskets, diaper bags, strollers, packages, containers and other similar products capable of concealing prohibited items. Please leave all unnecessary items at home or in your car.
  • Prohibited items must be taken back to guests' vehicles or put in the garbage receptacles. Any illegal items, including illegal drugs, will be turned over to the Yakima Police Department.

The following items are not permitted at the Central Washington State Fair:
  • Bottles or cans
  • Hard-sided coolers
  • Frisbees and beach balls
  • Laser pointers
  • Any noise making devices
  • Fireworks
  • Illegal drugs and alcohol
  • Weapons and dangerous devices of any type
  • Selfie Sticks
  • No Pets - Service Animals Only

CWFA bans the use of all remotely controlled devises, such as aircrafts, cars, etc.
  1. No remotely controlled aircraft or ground vehicle devices are authorized to operate on, above or below CWFA property at any time without the express written consent of the Central Washington Fair Association or the proper law enforcement authority.
  2. This procedure includes, but is not limited to, unmanned aircraft systems, radio controlled model aircraft, other devices that can be operated in airspace and remote controlled cars/ground vehicles.
  3. Possession or operation of such remotely controlled aircraft or ground vehicle devices without prior written consent will result in the confiscation of all related materials, removal from the CWFA property, and/or a response from law enforcement authority.
  4. CWFA will notify the Federal Aviation Administration and/or the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), and/or any law enforcement authority deemed necessary of any incidents involving airborne aircraft or any other authorized remote controlled ground based vehicles.
  5. Events requiring the use of any such prohibited items listed above must receive a prior written notification of approval from CWFA or the proper law enforcement authority. Any and all entities requesting to utilize a remotely controlled device must sign the appropriate documentation prior to bringing any such equipment on to, above, or below CWFA property.

The following actions are not allowed:
  • Disruptive behavior or unlawful acts
  • Solicitation, distribution, or selling of product outside of a contracted booth
  • Scalping or re-sale of tickets

REFUND POLICY

Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

RETRIEVING YOUR KIDS! PLEASE DO..

Parents picking up their children must do so in the Transit Lot area, just west of the Deccio Administration Building. Please coordinate your pick-up time and stress punctuality with your child. Our Transit Lot is limited in size and we simply cannot accommodate a lot of vehicles during peak periods.

SECURITY

Crowd management Services (Starplex CMS) and the Yakima Police Department have a strong presence at State Fair Park 24/7 during the 10 days of Fair. We strive for a safe environment for everyone.

SMOKING

In compliance with Washington Initiative 901 RCW 70.160, smoking is not allowed in public buildings, or within 25 feet of building entrances, exits, windows that open, and ventilation intakes that serve enclosed areas where smoking is prohibited.

TRANSIT SCHEDULE

Yakima Transit & Union Gap Transit will offer FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE all ten days of Fair! Yakima Transit buses leave the Gateway Center parking lot starting 30 minutes prior to Fair-opening hours and 30 minutes after Fair-closing hours. Service is continuous throughout the day. Union Gap Transit buses will go to and from the Valley Mall (Sears Parking Lot Bus Stop). Friday/Saturday: 11am-11pm, Sunday-Thursday: 11am-10pm, Closing Day: 11am-9pm. Service is continuous throughout the day.

OPENING DAY only, Transit will begin service at 10am from Gateway Center.

Hop On & Hop Off at the Gateway Center (10 North Fair Avenue). Two pick up points: North of Office Max & near the Target store. Yakima Transit will have the pick up locations well signed.

Please be courteous to the Gateway Center businesses by parking your vehicle in the areas furthest away from the stores so that their actual customers can access their stores easily. Please do not park your vehicles in the ADA (handicapped) areas!

Drop off at State Fair Park is directly in front of the Deccio Administration Building and just a few feet away from the Banner Bank Blue Gate.

For those coming from other parts of town and using public transportation, Bus #6 also delivers you to State Fair Park. The Bus #6 route schedule with times is below.

The Central Washington Fair Association thanks Yakima Transit and the City of Yakima, as well as Union Gap Transit & the City of Union Gap, for providing this great service for our workers and fair attendees!

WILL CALL

For those of you that order tickets by methods other than in person, you have the option of having your tickets held for you at our Will Call Window. Will Call is also for those who order tickets too late to be mailed.

Photo ID is required for ticket pick-up.

The Will Call Window is located at the State Fair Park Box Office, Deccio Administration Building, State Fair Park, 1301 S. Fair Avenue, Yakima.

Patrons that have purchased “show” tickets for the Coca-Cola Grandstand or for the Corona Stage, may pick up their tickets at the Will Call window until 1 1/2 hours prior to show time for the Coca-Cola Grandstand & 2 hours prior to show time for the Corona Stage. If tickets haven’t been picked up by that time, show tickets will be transferred to the Will Call Window at the respective venue (Coca-Cola Grandstand or Corona Stage ticket windows).

During the Fair, if you have a ticket packet to retrieve from Will Call and you are in a vehicle, you are permitted to enter the Transit Lot where you may park long enough to pick up your ticket package. Once you have retrieved your ticket packet, please move your car to the appropriate parking area. This Transit Lot is strictly patrolled and your car will be towed if longer than 15 minutes.
