Ampelio Contreras “el charro de Harrah”

Date: Sept 22 - Sept 29, 2019
Ampelio Contreras has been singing for 30 years, and is affectionately known as “el charro de Harrah”, which roughly translates to “the mariachi man from Harrah”. He is well-known locally, as he performs at numerous weddings, birthday parties, funerals, quiceñearas, and other special events.

Ampelio is in high demand; he is booked for one event or another almost every weekend. He prefers to go "old school", using word-of-mouth as his advertising, relying on his fans to spread the word to friends and family. Fortunately, due to his incredible talent, this has been the only advertising he needs!

Ampelio, who plays the accordion, found his passion performing at Church Mass in St. Peter Claver Parish in Wapato, WA, with his brother Pablo Contreras, who plays the guitar. Ampelio, and his brother Pablo, later founded “Tribu Nortena”, a duo that although is now limited to family events and other special occasions, doesn’t stop Mr. Contreras from singing.

Ampelio Contreras is grateful he is able to share his passion, and believes one of the best parts of his job is taking pictures with fans!

For booking info, please contact Ampelio directly at (509) 388-3905. His pricing varies, based on event type and location.
